Why AFE

AFE addresses the very real challenge of maintaining excellence in our schools in the face of changing financial reality. The money raised is not a substitute or an alternative source of funding for the school budget. AFE intends to enhance the effectiveness of our public schools by providing grants to individuals implementing new and creative projects to enhance the core curriculum of the Andover Public Schools. We wish to encourage and support innovative projects and programs that enrich the curriculum, inspire students and staff, and expand the community’s involvement in public education.

How We Differ from PTOs and PACs

A PTO or a PAC focuses on an individual school. AFE’s focus is system wide. We fund grant proposals from all ten of Andover’s public schools, and we especially encourage supporting projects and programs which can be developed, shared and replicated among schools.

Superintendent's Message

The Andover Fund for Education is an essential resource for the Town of Andover and its schools. Like so many local education funds now established in the Commonwealth, the Andover Fund is dedicated to instructional leadership, sound ideas and creativity. Surely, these are the basis of a vibrant school system, an informed citizenry, and a secure future.
