Contributions to AFE

AFE depends upon contributions from individuals, parents and businesses in order to maintain its direct-to-teacher grants program. The more contributions we receive, the more grants we are able to support!

You can contribute to AFE in your own name or anonymously.

Suggested contributions: $25,    $50,     $100,     $250,     $500

Contributions of any amount are appreciated.

AFE offers a variety of opportunities to support educational innovation in the Andover Public Schools!  Our unique "Honor a Teacher" initiative is a great way to recognize that outstanding Andover educator.  Individuals and organizations may also make a memorial or endowment gift or sponsor a grant.  Or make a contribution through our annual Andover Spelling Bee:  field a team of four adults, sponsor a round of the Bee, or place an ad in our program!

We also welcome volunteers at any time!

For more information about ways to contribute to AFE, please read on. . .

Teacher Appreciation and Memorial Gifts

Honor a Teacher! The Andover Fund for Education invites you to recognize that outstanding Andover Public School educator through its unique "Honor a Teacher" initiative.  Thank a teacher and acknowledge his or her important work by making a personalized donation to AFE in that teacher's honor.  The teacher receives a congratulatory card or e-mail message from AFE indicating your name and, if you wish, sharing a personal message.  (The amount of the donation remains private.)  All "Honor a Teacher" donations are returned to the classroom to fund innovative projects through an AFE grant, and your contribution is tax-deductible.

You can also contribute to AFE in memory of a teacher or in appreciation of any administrator, staff person, school, or organization.

If you donate via Paypal (above), please click on Donation Information to send an e-mail letting us know the name of the person you wish to honor. (If the link does not work, send the e-mail to: donate@andoverfundforeducation.org.)

Grant Sponsors ($500 or more)

Each gift of $500 will support one AFE grant. If you wish, you may specify that the funds be used to support a grade level (elementary, middle, high) or a particular discipline. Grant sponsors may elect to have their name, organization, or company associated with the grant being awarded.

Endowment Gifts (any size)

Endowment gifts allow us to increase AFE's endowment fund. Our endowment supports new grants year after year and sustains our commitment to excellence in education. An endowment gift of $10,000 will permanently endow a new AFE grant year after year. Endowment donors may elect to have their name, organization, or company appropriately recognized.

Remembering AFE in your Will

Please consider remembering AFE in your will. Every $10,000 donated to the AFE Endowment will permanently endow a new AFE grant year after year. Endowment donors may elect to have their name, organization, or company appropriately recognized.

Spelling Bee Teams, Sponsors, and Friends

You can also support AFE by participating in its annual Andover Spelling Bee.  Consider registering a team of four adults ($200), sponsoring a round of the competition ($250), placing an advertisement in the program book ($50), or becoming an AFE Friend ($25). The names and logos of Bee Sponsors are projected on the screen during round changes, and Sponsors may place an ad in the program. The names of AFE Friends appear in the program as well.

Volunteer Opportunities

We always welcome volunteers interested in contributing their energies to a specific AFE project!  You might help out with the Spelling Bee, stuff envelopes for a fundraiser, run the AFE table at a community event, or make a gift which we use as a prize.
